This is my first try for homemade tawa naan and realy pleased from my work.as I made roti on ulta tawa so for naan I used an old heavy bottomed fry pan,yet results are quite pleasing.I applied coriander butter at top which is optional,it can be made as it is.I do recomamand keeping in towel or cloth till serving and apply little oil/butter at top.

  2. 2 tsp baking powder
  3. 1 tsp baking soda
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 1 tbsp sugar
  6. 3 tbsp yogurt
  7. 2 tbsp oil
  8. 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  9. Basting
  10. 2 tbsp melted butter
  11. 1 tbsp chop coriander(optional)

Instructions to make to make Homemade Naan

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together. Add dahi and 1 tbsp oil and start kneading dough with lukewarm water
  2. Add 1 tbsp oil towards end of kneading.made a soft dough ball.keep covered in bowl for 3-4 hours.add chopped coriander in melted butter well mixed for basting
  3. Make small pairas/round balls from dough.make round or oval smooth flatbread with bit thickness.either apply coriander mixed butter now or apply later in pan.
  4. Wet one side of bread with water. Put the bread in hot pan water side down,keep flame low. bubbles will start forming at naan which means it is getting cooked from under.
  5. Now when top side of naan is completely bubbly and looks cooked enough,turn the pan over open flame directly,at low to medium flame till the colur starts to come up at naan
  6. Take out the naan from pan.keep covered in towel or dastarkhan. Apply little oil or butter at top.
  7. Enjoy soft clean homemade tawa naan with cookpad.
