  2. 1/2 cup split moong dal yellow
  3. to taste Salt
  4. 1 tsp black pepper powder
  5. 1/8 tsp baking soda
  6. 1/4 cup soaked raisins
  7. as needed Oil to deep fry
  8. as needed Yogurt
  9. 1/2 cup Imli ( tamarind)chutney

Instructions to make to make Dahi vada

  1. Soak the two dals together for at least 1-2 hours in lukewarm water.
  2. Put them in a mixer grinder and grind both well to make a thick batter like consistency.
  3. Add salt, black pepper powder and baking soda and mix well.
  4. Add soaked raisins and mix.
  5. Take oil in a wok and deep fry the vadas in batches on low to medium flame till golden brown on both sides.
  6. Drain on a kitchen paper and soak the vadas in lukewarm water for 10-15 minutes.Squeeze the excess water.
  7. Seene the dahi vadas with beaten yogurt, imli chutney, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander leaves.
