  21. 1/2 tsp green chilli chopped
  22. 2 tomatoes
  23. 1 tsp yoghurt
  24. 1/2 tsp fenugreek powder (kasoori methi)
  25. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  26. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  27. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  28. 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  29. pinch asafoetida powder
  30. to taste salt

Steps to make to make Rajasthani Daal Baati

  1. Wash all of the daal and soak them in water for 1 hour.
  2. Drain the water and add it to a pressure cooker.
  3. Add water into the pressure cooker along with some turmeric powder and salt.
  4. Cook the dal for about 3-4 whistles.

  11. Add the cooked dal to the tadka.
  12. Add garam masala, lemon juice, and salt (as needed).
  13. Let it simmer for 10 mins until the ghee rise.
  14. For preparing baatis, combine wheat flour, semolina, salt, baking powder, ajwain and ghee. Mix them.
  15. Now, add yoghurt start making a firm dough and use lukewarm water as required.
  16. The dough is firm, and not like a soft chapati dough.cover it and let it rest for 10mins.
  17. Preheat the oven.
  18. Now, knead the dough well for 3-4 minutes. Divide the dough in equal parts and shape them into balls.
  19. Slitly press the batis When done, arrange all the baatis in a baking tray and bake them for 30-40 minutes.
  20. Can se cracks in them, which is a sign of perfect baatis.
  21. Take the baatis out.
  22. Press them slightly by puting them in cloth.
  23. Dip them in melted ghee.
  24. Serve it with daal.
